16 December   Take a look at the fine 5.02ct oval orange Sapphire (SP3493) that was added today. Sorry that the photo doesn’t capture its true, bright color and sparkle but it is a beauty! And the 2.69ct blue Sapphire with the checkerboard top (SP3500) is wonderfully cut and of a lovely, clear blue. I also added a 4.85ct greenish-yellow Chrysoberyl (CR3484) from Africa and a small parcel of round natural (mostly) Sapphires (FS3488).

13 December   Six more gems were added today, fresh from the cutter’s where I had them repolished. The biggest and best is a phenomenal, rare orange Grossularite Garnet—Hessonite—of exceptional color and clarity and size (GR3490). This particular variety of Sri Lankan Hessonite Garnet is unusual because its clean, bright color is like a Spessartite’s and because it is exceptionally clean: this wonderful gem is loupe-clean. This sort of stone definitely does not come along every day.

Three very nice natural Zircons were added (ZR3447, ZR3448, and ZR3487), rose-cinnamon, and two yellows. Also with a similar and unusual rose-cinnamon hue, a 4.24ct oval Sri Lanka Garnet  (GR3491  SOLD). And, finally, a 2.34ct natural trilliant purple Sapphire that is a real bargain: less than $120! (SP3486--SOLD)

12 December   Such a fine blue Sapphire (SP3480) with exceptional brilliance. And this very fancy-colored Padparadscha-rose African Sapphire (SP3485). Not to mention the sparkly 8mm round purple Spinel (SI3477) and the champagne-pink Garnet trilliant (GR3499): wow! Finally, a trio of round Hessonites perfect for earrings and pendant (GR1657B).

11 December  Three very pretty stones were added today: a very rare, colorless Spinel (CR3496  SOLD) with a superb round brilliant cut, white as a diamond; a fine 3.57ct barion triangle Peridot (PR3494); and a large, 8.35ct golden Sri Lankan Sinhalite (SN3495) whose fine cutting and brilliance I simply couldn’t resist. I also have a 5ct orange Sapphire that is being repolished and will be posted in the next few days along with a scintillating yellow Chrysoberyl.

01 December  In the many years that I have been living in Sri Lanka and buying gems I have never come across a Green Beryl like this 17.01ct one (BR3475). Its color is a saturated leaf-green, deeper in color than any Green Beryl I have seen (except for Emeralds). And this one, uniquely, hails from Sri Lanka, a rare origin indeed for quality Beryls. It is untreated and wonderfully cut as a cushion with a checkerboard top. And, cousins to this Beryl, I have added two Aquamarines, also from Sri Lanka.

There is also a beautiful Chrome Tourmaline (TU3474  SOLD) which is as bright and wonderful as a fine Tsavorite. A very nice Burmese red Spinel octahedral crystal has been posted (XS3483) along with a Sri Lankan Japanese-twinned Sapphire crystal (XC3482). I posted a very nice, natural (no heat), pear-shaped Yellow Sapphire of 3.46cts (SP3481) with strong color. And do take a look at the pink-orange African Spinel (SI3476) which is dazzling. Another natural stone just added is the color-change Blue Sapphire trilliant (SP3473) with perfect change to deep purple under incandescent light.

Don't forget to see the Moonstones: all the prices were reduced!
